Rangrez means the one who colours — the dyer, the craftsperson who takes plain fabric and returns it transformed. In the traditional textile economy, the rangrez was essential: without colour, the weaver's work was incomplete. The Rangrez Card Holder is RASTAH's tribute to that act of transformation — an everyday object elevated by craft.
The base is denim — a material with its own working-class lineage, familiar and honest. Ajrak piping runs the edges, a hand-block-printed textile used as trim, bringing the resist-dyed pattern of Sindhi craft tradition into the piece at its perimeter. A hand-embroidered border lines the interior edge, and a metal laser-cut RASTAH logo is fixed to the face — precise, permanent, a mark that belongs on something you carry every day.
Denim and ajrak is a meeting of two working materials. Neither one is ceremonial — both are built for use. The hand embroidery and laser-cut metal elevate the object without changing what it fundamentally is: a card holder, built to be used, built to last, built to look better the more it is used.
