This hoodie embodies not only Rastah’s design motivations for this collection but the ethos that has pushed the brand forward from its very inception. The woven block print fabric was block printed with natural dyes by Aslam Mirza, using motifs that have been part of the Jhandoo artisan family’s personal collections for well over a hundred years. This richly coloured fabric, full of traditional floral imagery, intricate floral borders and peacocks in vibrant hues of yellow, blue and green, becomes the setting for a creative act of destruction. The garment is finished by hand to reveal the inner lining of black terry fabric, printed with the Rastah logo. Working with heritage elements and traditional garments, we have always prided ourselves in never approaching our subject with reservations or fear.
