This velvet long coat marks new milestones for Rastah as we continue to experiment with fabric and production processes. The grey distressed viscose velvet fabric is uniquely block-printed with a new technique and pattern exclusive to Rastahs studio. The design features a host of wildimagery, creating a rich tapestry of flora and fauna and evoking the feeling of a lush Indian jungle.

Pops of colour, added through hand embroidered detail work, add playfulness and depth to this chic and otherwise formal garment. The peacock is a particularly important regional motif and a longstanding feature of Rastahs iconography. To us, the peacock is a perfect embodiment of the effortless regality and vibrance so easily associated with subcontinental aesthetics. The back panel of the coat features a large, colorful iteration of this subject, painstakingly hand printed by a single artisan, Aslam Mirza, a long term collaborator with the house. The inside of the coat is lined with pink satin silk, while along the collar there is a visible wooden show button.
