On a sand-colour acid-wash jersey, screen-printed front artwork covers the body — a composition that uses the full front surface as its canvas. At the back, screen-printed Urdu text runs across the shirt, a language choice that is both visual and legible, design and declaration simultaneously. The acid wash gives the sand base a worn quality, as if the note has already been carried for a while before arriving here.
Urdu script is visually extraordinary — its letterforms have a calligraphic movement that makes text function as pattern even before it is read.
